Roxbury Gaels vs. Randolph Rams Sept 26th

In high school sports there is always one team that you wanna beat no matter what sport that would be....Well in Morris county NJ that would be the Roxbury Gaels and the Randolph Rams. These schools are only 10 minutes apart but each high school does not like each other in any sport.

Well this year the rivalry started with the high school soccer team on the boys side. Well Roxbury and Randolph now play a game a year for soccer at night where fans can come and watch even if they have kids playing another sport because everyone wants to be there for these HARD PLAYED games.

These are some photos i took from that soccer game which Randolph won in double overtime

Jaguars 2nd preseason game versus the Jets at Metlife Stadium

Last night the Jacksonville Jaguars took on the New York Jets in their second preseason game. Of course with it being Jacksonville and the Jets a lot of fans decided to not show up for this game. It in turn allowed me to get decent tickets for a cheap price.

Showed up around the stadium with a 20 minutes to go before kickoff so i was able to get a couple photos of pregame warm-ups.

The game looked to be one of those games that would come down to the wire but most of Jacksonville was all the 3rd or 4th stringers who are trying to make the team while the Jets played their starters till the 3rd quarter.

Blaine Gabbert actually looked like he could be a starting Quarterback in this league. He went 13/16 for 165 yards which was definitely a lot better than the week before against Miami. But he came out after the 1st quarter due to injuring his thumb on a Jets helmet.

Even Mark Sanchez looked pretty good since he knows that this is a year he needs to do something since he may be out of a job if Geno Smith plays really well. Mark Sanchez played 3 quarters and went  13-23 with 169 passing yards but also he gave up an interception in the end zone which made the fans boo him as he walked off the field

The whole second half of the game was all about the jets which led to fans leaving the game early since the final score of the game was Jacksonville-13 Jets-37. But Jacksonville has shown some vast improvements from the week before and lets see how the actual season goes.

August Race weekend at Pocono Raceway

This weekend was the second time that the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series visited the "Tricky Triangle". Not only were the cup cars there but also ARCA and Trucks were at the same track for a triple header of racing in the Pocono Mountains.

The weekend started out on Friday August 2nd with mainly only practice for the Cup Cars and Trucks..not only that but the Arca guys were going to practice and then have to qualify and race later in the day. First practice of the Cup series was lead by Kurt Busch and that would turn out to be the only practice for the Cup Series. Truck practice was led by Miguel Paludo and that was their only practice too, The Arca Race went off without a hitch and was a interesting race.

Saturday, August 3rd almost turned out to be a washout with the typical rain that ends up showing up in the Poconos when the Nascar series is in town. So after about 5 hrs of rain, which cancelled truck Qualifying and Cup practice it finally cleared up. With Qualifying being cancelled the Truck series race would go off with the starting lineup being set by practice speed from Friday. The Truck race was a very competitive 50 Lap race since that is all the trucks will run. Lap 1 there was a caution, but then the race actually sped by quickly until the Mysterious Debris Caution which lead to 2 green white checkers and the winner was #29 Ryan Blaney.

Then on Sunday is what we call the big show and it was the Sprint Cup Race. The Day was a beautiful one with no rain in sight. The day was great, McMurray was at the chevy stage doing Q&A then signed for fans, n after that was the Tweetup and he was the guest, after that Bowyer and Logano came out to sign for fans at their souvenir haulers. Then it was time for the race, and Jimmie Johnson got out front and basically started to pull away after a lap 1 crash.

Then Jimmie had a tire go down which caused him to slap the wall causing damage to his car and that was never the same for him. But after his damage, his teammate Kasey Kahne got out front and started to dominate when with 10 laps to go there was a caution which bunched up the field. After the restart with 8 laps to go Jeff Gordon who is Kasey's Teammate took the lead and everyone thought he had the win on his birthday but another quick caution brought that to an end. On the final Restart Kasey was able to get around Jeff and took the win.

Now we go from the Tricky Triangle to the Glen for some nice road course racing

Team Neen Photoshoot

On July 16th, I had a shoot with my favorite makeup artist. She scheduled 2 models for our shoot and the makeup she did was amazing as always. The one model was a girl name sophie and she was so easy to photograph while the other model was her daughter who is a great model to photograph. There will be more coming during the year with Team Neen

Most of these photos were taken with my Nikon D3100 with the Tamron 70-300 lens. Also tried to use the natural lighting of the sun to help lighten the picture since I have not yet received a off camera flash..which is my next purchase
This photo reminds me of something you see for Hawaii

Pocono Indy 400 fueled by Sunoco

After 24 years, the IZOD INDY CAR Series finally returned to the "Tricky Triangle" for what turned out to be an interesting race. The day started off for me by showing up to the track and 6am which is normal for any race fan. At 845am all of the drivers in today's race (which was 24 drivers) came out for an autograph session where i was able to get all drivers to sign a program from last years Grand Prix of Baltimore.

At 12pm the race was scheduled to go off with Marco Andretti on the pole. Marco was a local boy that grew up in Nazareth PA so the fans there were cheering for him to win since he was from PA, but also his father captured the final pole award there before they left and his Grandfather won the same race that his dad got the pole.

The race started out with Marcos dominating the first of the race where it seemed like it was a foregone conclusion that he would continue the tradition of winning at Pocono Raceway. But after some slow stops and having to conserve fuel to make it to the end of the race he ended up finishing 10th.

1950s style pinup shoot held at Johnny D's Diner in Upstate New York

On Sunday was a great photoshoot experience for me and I was glad i had the opportunity to go and shoot this great event. We had 7+ models there who all were styled to look like they were from the 1950s. What helped with this shoot was that we were set up at an old style dinner and we had some nice vintage style cars.

The photos that all the photographers took there will be a magazine made up of all the best photos that each took. below are some of the ones I took and hope that from this shoot more experiences will be able to arise from this and help me continue getting bigger

Unique Photo Expo

This weekend was the Unique Photo Expo held in Fairfield, NJ at Unique Photo. This is such a great event that Unique has every single year. They have many different classes and also have many demo shows of different products. This year was no exception, as I went to the first 2 days of the expo.

Hopefully they continue this event because each year it grows as more people hear about it.

Here are the photos from the first day of the Expo with one of the models who was such a pleasure to work with. The second photo in this set shows that unique photo was the host of this event

During the second day they had a model doing her pole routine which was different to see

During the afternoon of the second day, Unique had a biker and models class which brought out many different bikers and also some classic cars which was great to see and the models were great.

Finally the last part of the Day that I was a part of was a floor demo of how to use a speedlight for different lighting techniques without having all these lighting rigs set up

These two models are actually sisters
