New Jersey Devils v. New York Islanders

This was a great hockey game from the start to the finish. It had everything that most hockey fans love from goals coming like they are going on sale to a fight in the first 8 minutes of the game. This was a very big game for both teams since the season is shorter and every game counts more than in a regular season.

For this game since I couldn't bring in my Nikon D3100 since those kind of cameras are not allowed, I decided to go with the Sony NEX-5N that I had won from Unique Photo in a raffle, and this camera did not disappoint me in anyway and I used the 18-55 Lens that came with it.

Well the game was a great game and it went to Overtime with the Islanders coming out with a 5-4 victory which ties them with the New Jersey Devils in record, which means that the Devils have to do some work now and I think they can do it.

Here is the video board showing the New Jersey Devils Logo which was a pretty good photo to have to show the Home team.
Here is a photo from practice of David Clarkson taking a shot on Marty. Tried to get it timed right where Clarkson had already taken his shot and to get the puck off the ground.
During the first 8 minutes of the game there was a fight to get the crowd and both teams in to the game.

Here is Marty again but during one of the Media Timeouts

Islanders Celebrating after their Overtime goal that gave them the 5-4 victory.
Devils Celebrating after getting that 3rd goal to tie the game at 3-3

There is still more of the season to go and hopefully the Devils will get it all together and go on a tear of the Atlantic Division and make it to the Stanley Cup final again

Morris County Track and Field Championship

Well tonight marked the end of the Winter Track season for most of the athletes that compete in Morris County. Because after tonight it is all state meets and those required athletes to hit either a required time or distance. But that doesn't take away from most trying to get that time or mark so they can continue the season or even making a name and shocking the favorites in most events.

Some of the girls doing Shot put and trying to out throw each other to be able to win the County Shot Put Title
The Boys Hurdles during the Prelims to see who would be making it to the finals. Nothing can be better then timing the photo right to get each competitor jumping over the hurdles.

Here is one of the fastest prelim heats for the woman's hurdles. This is almost a full field photo of the all

The Woman's High Jump with a competitor completely over the bar on her attempt to clear the height and to keep moving on to be able to place and get a medal

Here is one of the Competitors for the pole vault getting ready to fly through the air to clear the height. Its amazing that these people can fly through the air at the heights they get

From here on out good luck to those who are competing in the state meets to see who is the best in the state. But for the others there is at least a month off to train to get ready for the spring season to be one of the lucky ones to make it to state.

Roxbury Gaels v. Randolph Rams

Roxbury: In one of the areas hottest rivalries in Morris County, Randolph came into Roxbury hoping to steal a win from the Gaels. As the case is every year, the games between these two teams are always physical and comes down to the wire where neither team gives an inch throughout the game. This game could go down as one of the best I've seen in the last couple years.

When the game reached halftime, Roxbury was only up by 7 points but it seemed that the momentum was on their side. Also as it is with the students, there is always a certain theme that they will set up to make the game more interesting for them and those around them. Tonight was no exception with it being "Beach Night".

Back to the game, Randolph came out very strong to start the second half. That must have been such a great halftime speech by the Randolph Coach to fire up his team. By the time we were getting ready to start the final quarter, Randolph had come storming back to tie the game. But that all changed with Roxbury scoring the next 10 points to take the lead and to hold that lead for the rest of the game.

Here is Randolph getting themselves ready to battle Roxbury

RIP PUB199

Just the other day something unimaginable happened right around where I live. A know landmark called Pub 199 caught fire around 4:15am on the 11th of January.  The fire was so bad that the whole building which people would come from all over to visit is now a shell of its former self.

Im thinking of doing a guess you could say a live blog as the owner rebuilds it from what it was to a new place that will try to keep the memory of the old alive. This fire was serve enough that it shut down the main road of our town for three hours

Jan 11th 9:45am Here are some photos from the aftermath when the police finally reopened the main road. People have been stopping on the side of the road almost every single day because people still can not believe that it burned to the ground.
