Jaguars 2nd preseason game versus the Jets at Metlife Stadium

Last night the Jacksonville Jaguars took on the New York Jets in their second preseason game. Of course with it being Jacksonville and the Jets a lot of fans decided to not show up for this game. It in turn allowed me to get decent tickets for a cheap price.

Showed up around the stadium with a 20 minutes to go before kickoff so i was able to get a couple photos of pregame warm-ups.

The game looked to be one of those games that would come down to the wire but most of Jacksonville was all the 3rd or 4th stringers who are trying to make the team while the Jets played their starters till the 3rd quarter.

Blaine Gabbert actually looked like he could be a starting Quarterback in this league. He went 13/16 for 165 yards which was definitely a lot better than the week before against Miami. But he came out after the 1st quarter due to injuring his thumb on a Jets helmet.

Even Mark Sanchez looked pretty good since he knows that this is a year he needs to do something since he may be out of a job if Geno Smith plays really well. Mark Sanchez played 3 quarters and went  13-23 with 169 passing yards but also he gave up an interception in the end zone which made the fans boo him as he walked off the field

The whole second half of the game was all about the jets which led to fans leaving the game early since the final score of the game was Jacksonville-13 Jets-37. But Jacksonville has shown some vast improvements from the week before and lets see how the actual season goes.

August Race weekend at Pocono Raceway

This weekend was the second time that the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series visited the "Tricky Triangle". Not only were the cup cars there but also ARCA and Trucks were at the same track for a triple header of racing in the Pocono Mountains.

The weekend started out on Friday August 2nd with mainly only practice for the Cup Cars and Trucks..not only that but the Arca guys were going to practice and then have to qualify and race later in the day. First practice of the Cup series was lead by Kurt Busch and that would turn out to be the only practice for the Cup Series. Truck practice was led by Miguel Paludo and that was their only practice too, The Arca Race went off without a hitch and was a interesting race.

Saturday, August 3rd almost turned out to be a washout with the typical rain that ends up showing up in the Poconos when the Nascar series is in town. So after about 5 hrs of rain, which cancelled truck Qualifying and Cup practice it finally cleared up. With Qualifying being cancelled the Truck series race would go off with the starting lineup being set by practice speed from Friday. The Truck race was a very competitive 50 Lap race since that is all the trucks will run. Lap 1 there was a caution, but then the race actually sped by quickly until the Mysterious Debris Caution which lead to 2 green white checkers and the winner was #29 Ryan Blaney.

Then on Sunday is what we call the big show and it was the Sprint Cup Race. The Day was a beautiful one with no rain in sight. The day was great, McMurray was at the chevy stage doing Q&A then signed for fans, n after that was the Tweetup and he was the guest, after that Bowyer and Logano came out to sign for fans at their souvenir haulers. Then it was time for the race, and Jimmie Johnson got out front and basically started to pull away after a lap 1 crash.

Then Jimmie had a tire go down which caused him to slap the wall causing damage to his car and that was never the same for him. But after his damage, his teammate Kasey Kahne got out front and started to dominate when with 10 laps to go there was a caution which bunched up the field. After the restart with 8 laps to go Jeff Gordon who is Kasey's Teammate took the lead and everyone thought he had the win on his birthday but another quick caution brought that to an end. On the final Restart Kasey was able to get around Jeff and took the win.

Now we go from the Tricky Triangle to the Glen for some nice road course racing
